Reported environmental incidents

Incidents due to technical and/or human failure, e. g. spills, blowouts, fires etc., or simply consequences of man’s interfering with nature, e. g. earthquakes, add to the negative environmental impacts of the oil and gas industry.

Not all of them have been reported to the authorities by the responsible companies or made public by the authorities in charge. Quite some incidents had first to be discovered by third party/civil society, and some supposedly went unnoticed for the time being.

Note to readers: If you would like to add another source of documented incidents in the oil and gas industry, frack-free.rocks would be happy to host that information.
