Infrastructure Act 2015
The Infrastructure Act 2015 containts provisions for planning development and infrastructure projects in the United Kingdom. The act targets “transport, energy provision, housing development and nationally significant infrastructure projects”, and has been – because of its provisions on hydraulic fracturing – the subject of controversy. For more see Wikipedia article on Infrastructure Act 2015.

Plaid Cymru’s 2016 Assembly Election Manifesto

The manifesto has this to say about fracking:

  • We will seek a complete ban on fracking and new open-cast coal mines. (page 127)
  • A Plaid Cymru Government will prevent hydraulic fracturing (‘fracking’) and the exploitation of other forms of unconventional gas as soon as the powers are devolved through the Wales Act. (page 133)
